Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare

A television commercial and corporate DVD to educate the public that foster parents come from all walks of life.  The commercial used a combination of real carers and staff "volunteers", patiently coached by director Mark Campbell.  Personally, I think the redhead at the end has real star quality!

Have a look at the website www.fosterabrighterfuture.com.au for more information.

Hafele

Directed by Aaron Wilson with DP Colin Bell shooting in HD, this was a late night shoot (wrapping at 4am!!) in Hafele's Flinders Lane showroom.   You may recognize Gary Cahoon from Hafele as the mystified husband in his film debut....

Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Directed by Matt Kamen with DP Colin Bell for Grey Advertising.  Shot at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne, there were actually two versions of this commercial made.  The slightly less gross one made it onto TV.

Mastercard Masters

For Phil Childs - Khevcomm Marketing & Communications.  Golf made sexy (!) through post-production.  The footage actually came from a number of disparate news broadcasts - coloured in post to give a cohesion to the sequence.

Primus Telecom

After accessing power from a very hospitable cafe in Docklands, someone didn't plug a freezer back in properly.  $500 of melted icecream later.....

Faux Pas

Faux Pas was created as a promotional piece illustrating the filmic style and all around coolness of the 37 South team.

Shot in Polly (Brunswick Street, Fitzroy), the trick to the rain was threefold.  We wouldn't want to spoil it for you, but if it's really keeping you up at night, we are open to the possibility of bribery.

Colin won the 2005 Gold Award from the Australian Cinematographers' Society for his work on this project.  Jolly well done, Colin!

Whippy Joes

After telling other people what kind of promo they needed for their business, this is what we came up with for ourselves.

Directed by Matt Kamen, produced by Helen Bitmead, shot by Colin Bell and starring Jason Gann (from Wilfred, SBS).

Marn Grook

A real in-house production: directed and shot by Colin Bell in 35mm.  The tracking was the big issue in post!  Shot just around the corner from the old office in Port Melbourne.
